Applying For Work Permit And Green Card
Next: Green Card Affidavit Of Support »
Your attorney will file the petition, work permit documentation and green card application at the same time with all the supporting documentation and filing fees. As each portion is approved the alien will receive what they have applied for.
In this case the alien will first receive their work permit, then the petition will be approved and then the green card will be issued.
As mentioned above the work permit should arrive between 45-90-days. If it does not then the alien can demand a temporary work permit.
The green card will take about 6-9 months to arrive. It could take longer, but you or your attorney will be able to track the progress of the case on line.
