Are Business Plans Important?

Many people ask me about business plans when applying for business visas. Who should write them, the immigration attorney, an independent business plan writer or the client themselves?
My advice is to always hire an independent if you can. It’s important for immigration officials to have as much third-party information about an applicant, so having a business plan drafted by a professional will add weight to your overall case.
In the alternative, if you can draft your own business plan and then have a CPA or other third-party professional review and comment on your business.
Business plan writers can charge anything from $800+, I guess an average rate would be around the $1,250. This having been said, various states where the overal cost of living is much lower would charge less and vice versa.
