Man Writes Book After Visa Fraud
A man in Jacksonville, Florida has written a book called “How To Not Get Burned By Internet Dating and Mail Order Brides” after a woman he was engaged to used him to procure a US visa.
Anthony Penoso met his fiancé online and helped her to apply for a visa so she could come to the United States for their wedding. But Penoso was left devastated after the woman never showed up in Jacksonville, choosing to go to Los Angeles instead to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Penoso says, “My fiancé, who was an eastern European model, used my credentials with immigration to procure a visa and didn’t show up for our wedding. She never showed up. She never called, and it was only later that I found she showed up in Beverly Hills via LAX.
“It had to have been a plot from the beginning to enter the U.S. anyway she could. Every potential contact you have on the Internet has it in them to make your life a living turmoil. The Internet is the place to avoid when emotionally vulnerable because there are people on the Internet who target people just like that.”
